Position Overview

The HR Compensation Intern will support the implementation and enhancement of OSG’s compensation systems by assisting with data analysis, market benchmarking, and process improvements. This role collaborates with HR and Finance to ensure accurate data migration, pay transparency, and alignment with industry standards. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical, and tech-savvy individual interested in HR systems, compensation strategy, and data analytics.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in Compensation System Implementation: Support the HR team in researching, evaluating, and transitioning to a compensation management platform.
  • Analyze Current Compensation Practices: Work with HR leadership to document existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
  • Support Data Migration & Clean-Up: Help prepare and validate compensation data to ensure a seamless transition to the new system.
  • Conduct Market Benchmarking: Assist in analyzing compensation survey data to compare our pay structures with industry benchmarks.
  • Enhance Pay Transparency & Equity: Support pay equity analysis and help develop materials to improve compensation communication with employees.
  • Develop Reports & Dashboards: Assist in building reports to track salary trends, merit increases, and budget alignment.
  • Collaborate Across HR & Finance: Partner with HR team members and finance to ensure alignment of compensation goals and system integration.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Analytical Mindset with strong skills in Excel and a willingness to learn HRIS and compensation tools.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to handle sensitive compensation data with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive mindset to identify challenges and propose solutions.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex data into clear insights for HR leaders.
  • Tech-Savvy: Interest in HR technology, data visualization, and process automation.
