The Clinic Manager at Oak Street Clinic is a manager-level leader responsible for the operational and personnel oversight of the Oncology Clinic. This role focuses on driving clinic performance, patient care quality, and team development by leading through direct supervision of the Clinic Supervisor (Medical Assistants and Reception) and the Laboratory Supervisor (Lab Services).

 

Essential Job Functions

The Clinic Manager provides strategic direction and managerial support to ensure that daily clinic operations are efficient, patient-centered, and compliant with regulatory standards. As a key member of the leadership team, this role also contributes to the sustainability and growth of oncology services across the organization.

Leadership 

  • Provide high-level leadership and direction to the Oak Street Clinic and Laboratory through direct oversight of the Clinic Supervisor and Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports in supervisory practices, operational decision-making, and team development.
  • Ensure that supervisors are equipped to lead their teams effectively, aligning department activities with organizational goals.
  • Model and promote OSG’s leadership values of consistency, accountability, and developmental support.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of supervisory and clinical staff in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and employee engagement.

Operations 

  • Oversee overall clinic operations by supporting supervisors in workflow development, scheduling, staffing, and frontline issue resolution.
  • Ensure operational consistency, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across all clinic and lab services.
  • Partner with direct reports to proactively address patient service issues and implement sustainable process improvements.
  • Guide supervisors in managing clinic policies, procedures, and staff communications.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize resource sharing and cross-functional support.
  • Monitor service metrics and ensure that quality standards are maintained through effective oversight and leadership of team leads.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role, with direct experience leading other supervisors or team leads.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated leadership in operational planning, team development, and organizational alignment.
  • Proven ability to lead through others, especially in a multi-disciplinary clinical environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Hematology/Oncology clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to present operational data and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
  • Sound decision-making and a high degree of professional integrity.
