The Admix Technician is a key collaborator with our clinical care team, using his/her excellence and timeliness in the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medication preparation to help keep patient care prompt and effective. In addition, the Admix Tech assists with medication inventory management and supplies to assure that medications are readily available.
Prior experience in the Admix setting is not required, but a valid Pharmacy Technician certificate will provide a valuable foundation to build on. This is a great opportunity for on-the-job training and personal growth within an established practice.

Essential Job Functions
- Verify and prepare medications using provider orders, following department policies and procedures.
- Accurately prepare hazardous and non-hazardous products following OSHA, USP 797/800, and clinic policies.
- Maintains safe and efficient technique when handling supplies under the hood when mixing medications.
- Correctly label all drugs per policy for safe administration.
- Establish and maintain approved par levels of medications, maintain correct inventory of medication and supplies, and ensure proper storage.
- Input received inventory of medication into Lynx.
- Collaborate closely with the nursing team to coordinate medication procurement and inventory management to ensure stock will meet the demands of operation.
- Stock supplies in the admix room.
- Accept all deliveries in the receiving room and deliver to other departments as needed.
- Monitor and schedule appropriate pick-up times for waste management.
- Review treatment schedules and order drugs as defined per department policy.
- Follows strict cleaning procedures for the clean room to reduce particle counts to maintain a high level of sanitation.
- Works closely with nurses and providers to ensure safe, timely, and effective medication administration for patients.
- Responds appropriately in case of emergencies, such as accidental spills or exposures.
- Knowledgeable in the process of cleaning hazardous drug spills following USP 800 guidelines and standards.
- Maintains Pharmacy Tech certification.
- Complete required training and competencies for research studies as designated by the Director of Research.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management, for which appropriate training will be provided, to support departmental objectives and organizational success.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of college or completion of a para-professional pharmacy training program
- Retail or other physician dispensing outlet experience
- Pharmacy Technician certificate required
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrable proficiency in I.V. admixture, inventory management, and dispensing preferred
- Oncology background preferred
