Letter to Our Patients Regarding Regence Coverage

To our patients,

At Oregon Oncology Specialists, we focus on providing high-quality, compassionate care at the lowest possible cost. We do that in part by being an independent practice and securing fair payment rates from health insurance providers.  

Unfortunately, after more than a year of negotiations, we have been unable to come to an agreement with the insurance provider Regence. The company’s latest contract rates are the lowest of any commercial insurance company in our practice and are simply not financially sustainable. In fact, Regence’s proposed rates would actually threaten the quality of our clinical programs and prevent us from caring for cancer patients here in Salem.

What does that mean for you? 

For starters, rest assured that all current insurance rates and access to care at Oregon Oncology Specialists will remain the same for the next 12 months. You may receive notification that Oregon Oncology Specialists is no longer in the Regence network, but for the next year, your care will not be impacted.

We will continue to work diligently to come to an agreement with Regence, and we hope that they realize how important it is for our patients to have access to compassionate, affordable care close to home.
